Funny Girl!

Felicity thought I was the funny one a few weeks ago. I won't be telling or showing anyone how I got her to laugh like this. It is just between me and my daughter... way too silly. :) I apologize for the sideways video. Apparently I do not know how to hold a flip video camera. If your on  a lap top and want to watch...just turn your screen.

Brady and my favorite part is the beginning...she starts out crying and it quickly turns to laughing.

P.S. Please excuse our messy room.

Seven-The Month of More Sleep!

I am glad that when I was pregnant nobody told me I would have to wait seven months before the month of more sleep. I think it might have freaked me out a bit, but surprisingly, 7 months of no more than 4 hours of sleep in a row isn't that bad when your greeted by a sweet baby each time. Do not get me wrong though, I am more than ready to be able to lay in bed for longer than 4 hours at a time!

Felicity is still waking up at night, but I have recently stopped going in her room when she wakes (which I probably could have done a while ago, but I just wasn't ready). It is still new for us all, but she has been putting herself back to sleep without too much difficulty for about a week now. So here's to hoping it continues!

One nice thing about more sleep at night is that it means more sleep during the day too! For a long time Felicity was religiously taking 30 minute naps. I truly could have set a timer for thirty minutes and she would wake within a minute or two of the timer, but her sleeping better at night has turned those 30 minute naps into an hour to an hour and half. (Praise Jesus!) This has been so nice for her mom especially, because I recently picked up a very part-time, work from home job! It basically just fell into my lap and we are so thankful it did! Every little bit helps!

This is has been another fun month watching our little girl learn and try new things. We introduced solids to FV this last month and it went over very well! She couldn't get enough of her rice and oatmeal cereal. We have now ventured onto a handful of other homemade baby foods and she has responded pretty well to them all...well after a couple tries each. :) We have captured a few moments of new foods below.

Having her eat meals with us has been a fun change. Her dad has also really enjoyed getting to feed her too (we gave up on the bottle). Felicity has also started using a sippy cup. She can put the spout up to her mouth and suck, but she needs some help tipping it so she can get something out. She looks like such a big girl with it. Bitter sweet.

Felicity is looking like she is on the verge of crawling too. She can get up on all fours now and move a bit, but she usually ends up going backwards. It is pretty cute. I don't know how long it will be before she figures out how to put the whole thing together but it is so fun watching her learn!

In other exciting family news, Felicity is going to have another cousin whose birthday could be on or within days of hers! She loves her cousin Reilly who is only one year older and now she will have a second cousin one year younger. I have started watching Reilly a few hours once a week. Felicity loves to watch Reilly play or do anything really. Felicity will squeal with delight as she watches Reilly do nothing. The rest of us do all sorts of things to try and get her to giggle...but her cousin simply has to be in the same room. So cute!!

My cousin and I just chillin'

Can't Believe Our Baby is SIX Months Old!!!

Mom and Dad- Put me to bed or lose me forever!

It must be time to go to sleep because I can't see anything...

My cousin Reilly entertaining me in the saucer.

My new favorite thing to do, stick my tongue way out!

Felicity with her great grandparents.

Pretty girl!

Hard to believe it was half a year ago that we welcomed this little girl into the world! She and her parents have come a long way. Brady and I were just reminiscing the other night about our first two months at home with her. WOW- it was rough, but I hoped then that we could look back and laugh about it. Glad to say we can! We are still working on our sleeping habits, but things have gotten so much better!! Even hard nights do not end with or even come close to ending with us taking a 3am drive around Denver to get FV to sleep. It always makes me feel better about where we are at now with sleep when I remember those things.

This last month has been so much fun! We are loving watching her learn and do new things. This last month she began rolling from her back onto her tummy. She did it once and was off. She can now successfully roll to get wherever her little heart desires. Felicity can also stay sitting up on her own for a little while now. I never realized how exiting it would be to see your baby learn to do such simple things,  but it is! It is amazing that at this time last year she was the size of an avocado in my belly! Absolutely amazing!!

Felicity got pretty clingy to Brady and me this last month. She really wasn't wanting anyone else to hold  her, but we have been glad to see she is slowly getting over that for now. She has gone down to the nursery twice this last month at church. She went down at 4 months and cried the whole time. So, only crying for 10 minutes or so the last two weeks is pretty good!

We are getting ready to introduce solids for a second time. We tried at four months but she just was not interested and kind of mad about it actually. I am pretty sure this time will be different. She is seeming pretty ready as displayed the other night when she did a back bend to get closer to my dinner plate or by the attentive way she watches us eat. We are looking forward to trying again and heres to hoping it doesn't end in tears this time!

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day! We were so thankful for out new little Valentine this year!

Laughing Twins

Since our daughter only seems to look like her father I felt the title of this video is appropriate. Here are daddy and daughter taking turns laughing at one another. So funny!

P.S. Brady would like me to clarify that this is not his "real" laugh. He was laughing like her to get her to laugh. haha

Five Months Old in the New Year!

Happy New Year! Felicity rang in the New Year asleep while we ordered in some wings and celebrated at home. We hope your year is going well so far! We didn't make any resolutions over here but I am hoping Felicity's resolution is to sleep 8 hours in a row:) We are getting closer. She went 7 hours one night, 6 the next and then five the night after that. It may not sound like much, but that was big step for us! I wish it had lasted longer than three nights, but at least we know she CAN do it. I know we will get there eventually.

This has been a month of firsts for Felicity. We celebrated Felicity's first Christmas with lots of family up at Crooked Creek Ranch in Winter Park. It was perfect like always and even more fun to celebrate with our daughter. She was pretty popular up there, especially with her second cousins, Zoe and Caleb.

This also marked the month that Felicity got her first flu bug. It was awful and scary. Felicity was throwing up off and on for two days. Luckily we already had an appointment with her doctor for her four month check up the same day she got sick. She told us how to check if Felicity was dehydrated. Thankfully she never got so dehydrated that we needed to go to the hospital, but you better believe her mother was compulsively checking to make sure.

That bug went all the way through the family including two of Felicity's aunts, one uncle, two grandpas, one grandma, one cousin and her mom and dad. Felicity and Brady both got sick the same night. I ended up calling my mom to come over and help me take care of my family that night. I don't know what I would do without her! Then I got sick once they were both better.

Felicity also started rolling over on purpose this month. She had rolled over quite a few times before, but it is very clear that she is now doing it on purpose. She no longer looks surprised afterwards, but pleased with herself. Tummy time doesn't last long anymore either. She is also really close to rolling over the other way, back to tummy. I think she could if she wanted to, but she has been pretty entertained on her back.

It has also become clear that Felicity loves music. She does not like being in the car without music playing these days. It now happens almost every car ride, she cries until we put on some music. It has started to feel quite comical to us. Felicity's preference for music playing is also starting to be proven true at home. Any activity is entertaining for longer if there is music on.  I think she may be her daddy's daughter! I woke up this morning to the two of them listening to Russian church music. :)

Felicity also got her four month shots. That wasn't fun, but I believe it always more traumatic for me than her. Brady had to be the one to hold her while they did it this time. I just can't take it. She also came down with a slight fever from the shots this time, another first.

Loving being this girl's parents!

Four Month Picture

Finally posting little FV's four month photo. It is getting more difficult to get a good one. The little bean is rolling all around and loves her little hands in her mouth.
