I am glad that when I was pregnant nobody told me I would have to wait seven months before the month of more sleep. I think it might have freaked me out a bit, but surprisingly, 7 months of no more than 4 hours of sleep in a row isn't that bad when your greeted by a sweet baby each time. Do not get me wrong though, I am more than ready to be able to lay in bed for longer than 4 hours at a time!
Felicity is still waking up at night, but I have recently stopped going in her room when she wakes (which I probably could have done a while ago, but I just wasn't ready). It is still new for us all, but she has been putting herself back to sleep without too much difficulty for about a week now. So here's to hoping it continues!
One nice thing about more sleep at night is that it means more sleep during the day too! For a long time Felicity was religiously taking 30 minute naps. I truly could have set a timer for thirty minutes and she would wake within a minute or two of the timer, but her sleeping better at night has turned those 30 minute naps into an hour to an hour and half.
(Praise Jesus!) This has been so nice for her mom especially, because I recently picked up a very part-time, work from home job! It basically just fell into my lap and we are so thankful it did! Every little bit helps!
This is has been another fun month watching our little girl learn and try new things. We introduced solids to FV this last month and it went over very well! She couldn't get enough of her rice and oatmeal cereal. We have now ventured onto a handful of other homemade baby foods and she has responded pretty well to them all...well after a couple tries each. :) We have captured a few moments of new foods below.
Having her eat meals with us has been a fun change. Her dad has also really enjoyed getting to feed her too (we gave up on the bottle). Felicity has also started using a sippy cup. She can put the spout up to her mouth and suck, but she needs some help tipping it so she can get something out. She looks like such a big girl with it. Bitter sweet.
Felicity is looking like she is on the verge of crawling too. She can get up on all fours now and move a bit, but she usually ends up going backwards. It is pretty cute. I don't know how long it will be before she figures out how to put the whole thing together but it is so fun watching her learn!
In other exciting family news, Felicity is going to have another cousin whose birthday could be on or within days of hers! She loves her cousin Reilly who is only one year older and now she will have a second cousin one year younger. I have started watching Reilly a few hours once a week. Felicity loves to watch Reilly play or do anything really. Felicity will squeal with delight as she watches Reilly do nothing. The rest of us do all sorts of things to try and get her to giggle...but her cousin simply has to be in the same room. So cute!!
My cousin and I just chillin'
Staring contest.
mmmm...rice cereal
What the heck was that?!?!!
